Don't ask if you don't want the answer...
iTunes
"It's hard to take your insults seriously when you can't even spell."
Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".
A capitalist and a socialist are walking down the street and a man drives past in his Ferrari. The capitalist says "I hope one day I have a Ferrari like him", the socialist says "I hope one day he has to walk like me".

iTunes is the answer if the question is "what is an overused, over rated, bloated and overly stupid program?"

itunes is so simple to use, compared to otherm media/song players
but i only use it to play songs, and changing the id tags on it is so much easier as well

Wow, hard hitting technical criticisms there lol
I like it because it is simple to use and works perfectly with my iPod - another product I use because it is simple to use. I see no reason to use something complex for complexities sake.

The merit of the criticisms is mindblowing

The simplest way to manage music is to drag and drop the files you wish to add or remove from the device. Itunes uses all this syncing crap which removes my music if i plug it into another computer and wont even let me browse the files that are on my device. You think that's simple?
As much as i like my iPhone, i feel that iTunes is really holding it back.

You can turn that setting off you know...
I like itunes. You have to do a bit of tweaking (which can take up a lot of time) to get things organised exactly how you want, but it makes it very easy to find things once it's setup

Having only ever used iTunes once about 3 years ago, and never wanting to touch it again afterwards, what exactly does iTunes that most other programs don't?

thats the trickiest descision ever
i did artist but now when something new is released i either have to re burn that cd or make like the pitcher 1, the pitcher 2 etc
burnt cd's in mp3 only problem is when i take cd wallet to a mates house to mix his cd player doesnt support mp3 so i either have to bring my cdj's which is fukn painful or mix out of his cd wallet.
so think hard about it and get a printer that has a cd tray for disk printing looks so much neater

*Uses 3 times the amount of memory of any other music management program such as winamp, songbird..etc
*Wont support FLAC
*No plugins
*Nazi-esque DRM restrictions
iTunes crashed the other day while it was syncing. I rebooted my phone and tried to Sync again and i couldn't. For some reason iTunes thought that there was a 12GB file somewhere on my phone. I couldn't add any of my music (which it conveniently deleted) or videos. On any other phone i could just browse the folders in finder or explorer and search for large files, not this case. I had to restore my phone and all the apps and music, lost all my settings..etc.
But itunes is the best right?

What are these "nazi-esque DRM restrictions" of which you speak?
